BRIEF HISTORY OF MBARA OZIOMA COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY (MOCTECH) EHIME MBANO, IMO STATE.

Mbara Ozioma College of Technology (MOCTECH) Ehime Mbano, Imo State, Nigeria, a well equipped Tertiary Institution approved by the Federal Ministry of Education and accredited by National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) offers National Diploma and certificate programmes in the field of Building Construction Technology, Welding and Fabrication, Computer Hardware Engineering Technology, Computer Software Engineering Technology and Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology, Business Informatics. Banking Operations, Hospitality and Tourism.

MOCTECH prepares students for rewarding careers in technology by combining theory and hands-on-skill training.

MOCTECH, a model ICT based institution, is partly sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the German Government (BMZ) in collaboration with some other foreign Non-Governmental Organisations.

Mbara Ozioma College of Technology MOCTECH was established in 2014 by Mbara Ozioma Foundation – a Federal Government of Nigeria registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) as a vocational technical school as Mbara Ozioma Technical College (MOTECH) to complement government’s effort to drive technical and vocational acquisition among the youth of the society. with the ultimate goal of empowering them with high -tech skills leading to national and international certifications as well as supply the industrial sector with skilled manpower.

The college was at inception recognized by the Imo state Ministry of Education and offering courses in wood, metal and electrical installation technology leading to certificate and diploma qualifications from City and Guilds, Institute of London, England.

After the first year, the zeal to make the college’s certificate to be at par with other federal and state owned tertiary institutions necessitated the move by the Governing Council to apply to the National Board of Technical Education (NBTE) for approval and accreditation.

In 2016, the college metamorphosed to a nationally recognized tertiary Institution, licensed by the Federal Ministry of Education and approved
by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) after a resource inspection exercise precisely in August.

Mbara Ozioma College of Technology received its official approval on 21st December 2016 to operate as a tertiary institution offering National
Diploma (ND) and certificate programmes.
